Forged letter purporting to be from H.H. Pope John Paul II to Prince Ferdinando di Borbone and intended to suggest Papal approval of Prince Ferdinand as claimant to the Constantinian Grand Magistery |
Forged letter purporting to be from H.H. Pope John Paul II and supposedly appointing Cardinal Deskur to the post of Papal Representative to the Order. This and the preceding document were pubished by the Castro Order on several occasions. |
Letter purportedly from H.H. Pope John Paul II adressed to Prince Ferdinando di Borbone supposedly nominating Cardinal Siri to the post of Papal Representative to the Constantinian Order. This letter, like the previous two, was published by the the Castro Order as evidence of Papal recognition. |
Letter from Don Vicente de Cadenas asking Cardinal Siri if the purported letter was authentic and asking if he had been designated Papal Representative. |
Letter from Cardinal Siri's Secretary stating that he knew nothing of this supposed appointment. |

Libro d'Oro of the Italian Nobility |

False statement made in the Libro d'Oro that Cardinal Siri had been appointed Papal Representative |
False statement in the Libro d'Oro that Prince Carlo had been given the Collar of the Ordine Piano, usually reserved only for Heads of State. |
Letter from the editor of the Libro d'Oro stating that the information in the previous edition on the Constantinian Order and the Two Sicilies Royal House had been supplied by the Castro Order Grand Chancellor. |
Letter from the Cardinal Secretary of State to "H.H. Prince Ferdinando di Borbone" (omitting his assumed title of Duke of Castro) declining to appoint a Papal Representative to the Constantinian Order. This letter post-dates the forged letter addressed to Prince Ferdinando purportedly appointing Cardinal Siri to the very post to which three months later Cardinal Casaroli is declining a nomination. Nonetheless, despite this clear letter, the Castro Order published the statements in the Libro d'Oro above and distributed pamphlets stating that the Vatican had made this appointment, including a photograph of Prince Ferdinando and his son Prince Carlo with Cardinal Siri, stating that the latter was Papal Representative. |
Letter from Cardinal Casaroli to Cardinal Oddi declining the latter's request (made at the instigation of Prince Ferdinando who had already presumably received the letter of three months earlier in which this supposed appointment was granted) for the appointment of a Papal Representative to the Castro Order, because of the dynastic dispute between the two branches of the Family. |
Statement published on behalf of the Castro Order falsely stating that Prince Ferdinand of Bourbon-Two Sicilies had been accorded the Supreme Order of Christ by His Holiness the Pope. With equal lack of accuracy it also states that he is supported by several European Royal personages including the Sovereigns of Great Britain, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium who have not taken any position in this dispute. Neither has the Archduke Otto nor the Vatican as is implied here. |
